for his son John, Conrad Boos Sr. founded the john
boos company in 1887 in Effingham Illinois. What originally
was built as a wooden block to straighten horseshoes,
was later adapted for the local butcher who had seed
the block and figured out it could work well for his
needs also. From that moment on john boos was building
its john boos butcher
blocks.
With production facilities in Effingham IL , Philipsburg
PA and Suring WI , john boos focuses on high quality
products. This resulted in the prestigious Gold Medal
for Excellence in Foodservice Equipment by the Chefs
of America which the company got awarded in 1994.
